Career Center
The library owns a large variety of books on a wide range of careers and most of these can be checked out. In additon, there are books on test preparation and how to write cover letters and resumes. We also have career encyclopedias and other guides that must be used in the library but can easily be photocopied. Staff members at the Children's Desk and at the Information Desk will be happy to help you locate materials.
The Georgia Career Information System can be accessed through GALILEO. Click GALILEO to find out about GALILEO and how to access it.
Resumes and Cover Letters
How To: Here's a link to a 5-Minute-Videopedia video on How to Write a Resume
If the computer you are using has Microsoft Word, you may already have resume and cover letter templates available to you. Usually you can find resume helpers under File then New. Or, you can download dozens of templates at http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/templates/CT101043371033.aspx If this link doesn't work, try searching for the terms "resumes" or "cover letters".
At Emurse http://www.emurse.com/ you can create, share, and store your resume online for free plus save it as a Word document.
