Library Cards for Teachers & Students

Any Georgia resident can check out materials and use the GALILEO online resources from school or home. All you need is a PINES library card. Anyone under age 18 must have a parent or legal guardian with them in the library when they first apply for a library card.

Classroom Resources

Integrate the many online resources from GALILEO into your classroom curriculum. You'll find subject guides, tips on evaluating websites, online tutorials, and more.

Planning on a major homework assignment where lots of focused library materials will be needed? Help out your local library by sending us a Homework Warning.

School Visits to the Library

Would you like to bring your students to the Newton County Library? Please schedule your visit with us in advance so that your students will enjoy a pleasant library experience. Elementary and middle schools should call the Children's Desk at 770-385-6444 while high schools should call the Information Desk at 770-385-6449. We can arrange for a tour, a discussion of how to use the library, and highlight any part of the collection that you would like.
